Immersive Adventures
Explore the breathtaking world beneath the waves with Blue Vagabonds, where every journey is a dive into the extraordinary. Specializing in unique ocean wildlife encounters, we craft personalized adventures that bring you face-to-face with the ocean's most captivating creatures.
Conservation through Connection
We aim to create experiences that foster a deep, emotional bond between our guests and the ocean's incredible wildlife, believing that when people feel a personal connection to the environment, they are more likely to protect it. By immersing travelers in intimate, respectful encounters with marine creatures and ecosystems, we seek to inspire love and appreciation that goes beyond the surface.
Creative Learning
We understand that some of the most powerful connections with the ocean come through the lens of a camera. That's why our photography workshops are designed to help you capture the stunning beauty of marine life and seascapes, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned photographer. Led by expert marine photographers, these workshops are not just about taking pictures—they’re about storytelling, conservation, and seeing the ocean from a new perspective.
Respect for Nature
We believe that the ocean is not just a playground but a living, breathing ecosystem deserving of our utmost respect. Our approach to ocean wildlife encounters is rooted in responsible tourism practices that prioritize the well-being of marine life and habitats. From observing animals at a safe distance to minimizing our environmental footprint, every action we take is guided by a deep respect for the natural world.
What our guests have to share

Laura Cottril
After a period of hard life changes, I decided to google my lifelong dream of swimming with whales in Tonga. The stars aligned and it felt like I had won the lottery because I found Jono Allen. His stunning photography and his mission to connect people with whales so that we will want to save them drew me in. That first trip literally changed my life from “I’m dead inside” to an adventure seeking, healthier and happier person. Jono not only creates an experience with the beautiful whales of Tonga, he connects people, bonding the group on the boat to care and celebrate each other’s experiences. Jono openly shares photography guidance and historical and biological facts about the whales as well. This year I will be joining Jono for a third time in Tonga! At home, I now lap swim regularly to train for my trips, as well as becoming a certified freediver. I’ve also joined Jono in Baja - Mexico, which was another epic growth experience and a plethora of ocean wildlife.
My recommendation is don’t hesitate another day. I called my most adventurous friend and invited her to Tonga with me and three weeks later we were in the water watching a heat run on our first day. Now our friendship is renewed with new memories and adventures. All my gratitude to Jono and his beautiful team for sharing his gifts with us and opening his arms to join the whale family. Literally, life changing.
Intimate Encounters
We believe that the best wildlife encounters happen in small, respectful groups. By keeping our group sizes small, we can offer more personalized experiences, reduce our environmental footprint, and ensure that every participant feels closely connected to the adventure. Small groups allow us to cater to individual interests, provide more detailed guidance, and create a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that’s perfect for exploration.
